Flashpoint Bluegrass Radio

Flashpoint began out of a desire to explore the arts and to become a place for discussion of all things artistic. As it has developed, I have spent most of my time in the folk arena (mostly bluegrass & country) because those areas have been most available to me. A new way that has sprung up for this exploration as a part of the Flashpoint Initiative is the Flashpoint Bluegrass Radio Show. I welcome the chance to host a weekly internet radio show on Worldwidebluegrass.com.

Beginning in October (pending some tech tests), on Monday nights from 7-9 (Central), you can tune into www.worldwidebluegrass.com and enjoy some of the best of today’s bluegrass, some important recordings from the past and some special treats as well. I hope to track through a CD most weeks and occasionally have interviews with folks from the Bluegrass world as well. There is supposed to be a chat room set up so we can converse during the show too. I’m open to requests, but I preplan the shows, so you may have to bear with me and tune in to future shows to catch your tune.

If you want to support the show, there are some things you can do to help:

  • Please go and like the Facebook Bluegrass Radio page. Info will be there as well as on this site as we get closer.
  • Listen once I hit the air.  It’s really about the music
  • If you, or someone you know would like to sponsor the show, it is very inexpensive and very needed. The WWB needs sponsors &/or donations to continue. Streaming royalties are not cheap, so this is really a need to keep Bluegrass music rolling. Please contact me if you’re interested in helping.
  • I would also consider taking on some sponsors for the upkeep of the Flashpoint website itself. Everything to this point has been out of pocket and it would be nice to cover minimal costs. Let me know if this is of interest too & we can work something out.

I’ll be sure and post here and on social media as things progress, of course. I hope you’ll make plans to join me when we start and spend some time listening to some good Bluegrass music!
